I was keeping a record of our preparation but life got in they way. We were walking 5 miles almost daily (until last week) with about 3 ten milers thrown in. I fell once and bruised my knee and Palma started having knee problems so a couple of days ago she got a cortisone shot. I have arthritis in my back and it's been talking loudly to me so I have to get mentally ready for some sore days.
One of my very best friends died last week from cancer. He had been ill since September and it took him quickly. I plan to carry intentions for him from his wife to leave with Santiago. One of his son's is interested in the Camino so I hope to encourage him to do it.
We leave in 4 days!
